What Happened to Joe Rogan?
Did he change or did we?
If you haven’t heard of the outrage being directed at Joe Rogan and Spotify for allegedly spreading Covid-19 misinformation you must be truly disconnected from social media. Good on you!
Rogan is the host of one of the most popular podcasts on Earth, The Joe Rogan Experience. His podcast episodes often take the form of casual conversations with his guests. I’m not much of a fan myself, but to his credit, Rogan doesn’t back down from controversial topics. This is why he finds himself in choppy waters today.
He’s gained substantial notoriety for his perspective on the Covid-19 vaccines. Recently, he had two guests on his podcast who have spoken against the perspective of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding these vaccines. Because of the perspectives presented by these guests, as well as Rogan, there have been calls for Spotify to remove Rogan from their service.
I listened to the podcast with immunologist and virologist Dr. Robert Malone and I didn’t find it offensive or manipulative. I didn’t perceive Malone as trying to dupe people into believing something he, himself, didn’t believe.
