Stop Doing This One Thing to Make Your Life More Satisfying

Hint: you’re chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Most of us know the Irish legend about a pot of gold sitting at the end of every rainbow. It’s an enticing fantasy that I’m sure has caused many an explorer and treasure-seeker to strike out to find it.

What’s so spectacular about this fairytale, though, is that a rainbow is an optical illusion. You can neither approach it nor move away from it. A rainbow will always look the same distance away from you. So, no matter how hard you chase after the end of a rainbow, you’ll never reach it.

What does this have to do with you? Well, we’re all chasing after our own version of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And we often do this to our great detriment.

Chasing, chasing, chasing

Do you ever feel like you’re on a treadmill, running your ass off but never getting anywhere? Like, no matter how far you’ve come, you’re just as far away as you’ve ever been from where you want to get to?

Sure, you might have graduated from a prestigious university, landed your dream job, or published your first book. You might have won a national tournament in your favorite sport or found the love of your life. But…
